Meet some of the Journalism Program alumni. These interviews were conducted and edited by students in the News Video class during the reunion in October 2006.

Michael Coren (2.4 MB)
Michael Coren graduated from Emory in 2002, worked at CNN and several newspapers, wrote about environmental issues as a Luce Scholar in Southeast Asia and is currently a grad student in environmental science at Yale.

Crystal Edmonson (4.5 MB)
Crystal Edmonson is the broadcast editor for the Atlanta Business Chronicle and frequently reports for Atlanta’s NPR station, WABE 90.1 FM. She is also Regional Vice-Chair of Programs for the Caucus of Emory Black Alumni.

Richard Hodges explains why his journalism major at Emory was a key contributor to his successful public relations career.

Lindsay Jones (3.4 MB)
Lindsay Jones works for the Palm Beach Post as the only female sportswriter and was editor of the Emory Wheel while she was in college.

Ed Kelly is a 1950 Emory Journalism Graduate and former editor of the Thomasville Times-Enterprise who reflects on the on-going values of good journalism.

Dr. Randy Martin (4.1 MB)
Dr. Randy Martin is a 1976 Emory Medical School Graduate. He is the science editor at WSB-TV in Atlanta and a cardiologist for Emory Hospital.

Mike McDougald (4.9 MB)
Mike McDougald, a 1952 Emory Journalism graduate, made his claim to fame as a broadcaster with WSB radio. Throughout his career, McDougald has owned, bought or sold eight different radio stations, and he was inducted into the Georgia Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 1996.

Gary Pomerantz (3.6 MB)
Former Emory Journalism Instructor Gary Pomerantz is also an author and former sports reporter who reminds students about the value of journalism to society.

Henry Schuster (2.9 MB)
Henry Schuster is a 1978 Emory graduate and has worked for CNN for more than two decades. His work includes reporting in some of the most dangerous hot spots on the planet, including the Middle East.

Seni Teinabeso (3.6 MB)
Seni Teinabeso is 2004 Emory Journalism graduate and is a special projects producer at WJZ-TV in Baltimore.

Scott Shapiro (2.8 MB)
Scott Shapiro graduated from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School in 2002. He also received a degree in Journalism, and is currently the producer of ESPN’s "Mike and Mike in the Morning Show."

Matt Sloane (3.6 MB)
Matt Sloane is a medical producer for CNN and is responsible for Dr. Sanjay Gupta’s daily blog and weekly video podcasts. He has covered Hurricane Katrina and the Terri Shiavo case as well as written articles for Time magazine.

Donald Waddington (3.0 MB)
Former President of Branham Newspaper Sales, Donald Waddington, credits his successful career to Emory in the areas of public speaking, advertising and journalism.
